Long game, no lights equals defeat for Jackets - Kinder, LA 70648

The second game of the day pitted Kinder, who had just suffered a heart breaking loss, up against Newman out of New Orleans. The game was a hard fought battle all the way into darkness on a field that had no lights.
On a field right behind the mighty LSU baseball stadium stands the field of University Lab High school. Kinder started out great, scoring four runs in the first inning. But Newman got three right back. Kinder tacked on another two runs in the second inning then gave up two more to Newman.
Newman then brought in their ace pitcher #4 and Coach Kenney Courville countered with Blake Trahan. A pitchers duel commenced.
#4 had 10 strikeouts and Trahan had 10 strikeouts. But Kinder could not hold on to the lead. Kinder had added another run in the 4th to make the score 7-5. Newman was able to score two runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game and send it into extra innings. As the skies darkened there seemed to be a rush to hurry and finish the game.
Kinder scored two more runs in the top of the 8th but gave up three runs in the bottom of the inning. Kinder lost 10-9.
