The family of the horse that was sold at the Kinder sale barn for slaughter meat has identified the suspect as Terry J. Lemaire, 52, of Lafayette.
Lemaire was arrested on May 8, 2014 on charges of Felony Theft and booked him into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail for theft of two horse saddles, two horse blankets and a bridle from a farm near Jennings.
"He lives in Lafayette but we can not find him. We believe he is running so please keep your eyes open! I do not want this to happen to anyone else. No one deserves this." the Family said on their Facebook.
"This is where we found her." the horses owner said while at the Kinder sale barn. "Scared, muddy, and cuts here and there. This is no place a loved horse should be! Please let's put a stop to this guy from stealing and selling them just for money! Not caring if it's slaughter. He is still on the run as we speak."
If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Terry J. Lemaire, 52, of Lafayette please contract Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office at
