(YouPostTheNews) – Anybody who has purchased a Red Bull since 2002 is entitled to ten bucks from the company after they agreed to a settlement in a class action lawsuit last month.

Red Bull agreed to pay out $13 million to customers in order to settle two consumer class action lawsuits alleging the company’s marketing misrepresents both the safety and functionality of their products, according to FOX6.

The suit said that purchasers of the company’s beverages were misled by their well-known slogan “Red Bull gives you wings.” It also stated that the advertised benefits of “increased performance,”

“improved concentration” and “reaction speed” were misleading to drinkers of the products.

One of the plaintiffs stated, “Such deceptive conduct and practices mean that [Red Bull’s] advertising and marketing is not just ‘puffery,’ but is instead deceptive and fraudulent and is therefore actionable,” according to the suit.

Red Bull only agreed to the settlement, which is awaiting a May 1, 2015 hearing for approval, only to avoid further litigation in the cases and they denied that they had done anything wrong.

“Red Bull settled the lawsuit to avoid the cost and distraction of litigation. However, Red Bull maintains that its marketing and labeling have always been truthful and accurate, and denies any and all wrongdoing or liability.”

Should the settlement be approved after review, payments will be sent out 150 days later. You can either receive a $10 cash payment or $15 worth of Red Bull merchandise, and below is how you can redeem it, via FOX:
