The Kinder United Methodist Church, like many small, rural churches, is undergoing lots of changes with a very small membership and a lack of faithful attendees at its Sunday service.
They are still OPEN and will strive to remain so. The Board of Directors and the members have decided that God has a plan for the church and now is not the time to be closing churches.
The church will lose their pastor at the end of the month but are making plans to fill the pulpit with lay ministers until the District can provide them with another preacher.
The Kinder church was started back in the early 1900’s and met in the homes of its members before a church was built. It was, at one time, a thriving church with lots of members and lots of programs for both adults and children. Members were transferred, passed away or moved to other places leaving them with no children or young people in their church.
The United Methodist Church has a logo: Open Hearts Open Minds Open Doors. They would like to invite any and everyone who might be looking for a church home to come and visit with us. The church is located at 1002 5th Avenue and church services begin at 9:15 each Sunday.
